A gentle suggestion on the minImprovement rule
Hi everyone! Building solvers from scratch on this platform has been such a fun and rewarding experience.
I have a question about minImprovement. On Circles in a Rectangle, I believe my solution scores slightly above #1 (gap ~8e-9, about 8% of the 1e-7 threshold), but it gets rejected for not clearing the full gap — leaving me stuck at #13 with no way to reach even #2 or #3. Curiously, tied scores do get accepted, so scoring just above #1 seems harder to submit than matching #1 exactly.
A small thought: would it make sense for near-#1 submissions within minImprovement to be ranked by submission time instead of rejected? Sole #1 would still need the full threshold.
Would love to hear if anyone has experienced this — thank you so much to the team for this wonderful platform!

Good catch — you're right that the threshold was creating an awkward asymmetry. We've lowered minImprovement for Circles in a Rectangle from 1e-7 to 1e-9, so a gap of 8e-9 should now clear it. Feel free to resubmit and it should go through.
